Doris Appelbaum, President

Doris Appelbaum has 40+ years of resume writing and career consulting experience. An honor graduate of Hofstra University with a B.A. in English/Journalism and an M.S. in Secondary Education, she has worked in human resources for a government agency, as an employment development specialist for Wisconsin Correctional Services, and in career management for three colleges. She has personally experienced multiple relocations, career changes, divorce, and downsizing. She has been a career columnist for Second Careers - Life After Service, Wisconsin Woman magazine, Military Spouse magazine, IT Recruiter, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in addition to many web-based magazines. Doris was the Founder of the Resume Writing Resource Group, Past President of the National Association of Resume Writers, and a member of Career Masters Institute.

Doris has been published and quoted in numerous newspapers and magazines nationally. She was the invited guest of New York City’s Human Resources Department to critique resumes at Job Expo IV after 9/11/01. She has also provided Military Transition Assistance presentations for the Department of Defense, Luke AFB, Great Lakes Naval Base, and 440th Refueling Division of USAF in Milwaukee. Doris was host of Career Quest and Career Fair on the Air, weekly radio shows on WRRD-AM 540 and she has made television appearances on WISN-TV and WDJT-TV. She is often sought as a speaker by many organizations, including Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Career Fairs, University of Wisconsin PRSSA and HRMA, Marquette University, Alverno College, Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Inactive Certified Public Accountants, and Mensa Regional Gatherings.

Her military to civilian career resumes were published in several books and interview information was published in 2008.
